it’s a winged octopus. It’s a photograph of a Giant Pacific Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) snaring down and eating a live Glaucous-winged Gull (Larus glaucescens).Victoria, British Columbia. Which reminds me of this article in the ‘net, which says that sunflower sea stars (Pycnopodia helianthoides) have been observed eating drowned, dead ducks (or maybe some live ones, I forgot).
